This evening I went to Longshan Temple and then popped to the nightmarket and street food afterwards for some dinner.
I had been dying to try this dish since I arrived in Taipei and I finally came across it. 花生饼 A crepe with shaved peanut brittle, cilantro and taro, peanut and pineapple icecream. Overall I liked it although I don’t think it’s something I would be craving the next time I go to a night market
Also tried 鱼丸汤 (fish ball soup) for the first time. I actually really liked this, the pepper and celery gave it a really refreshing taste.
Also had to get a sausage on a stick!
Last night I also tried stinky tofu for the first time. Was actually pleasantly suprised.. Would even go as far as saying I liked it! The pungent smell is definitely far worse than the taste.
Tried “dou hua” for the first time last night, tofu with brown sugar, peanuts and ice put over the top. The ice melts because the tofu is hot and it makes a sort of soup. It wasn’t bad, not sure if it’s something I would choose to eat over other things though.
Found a great cheap Indonesian/ Malaysian restaurant right by my house so tasty!
Tonight for a friends birthday we headed to an airplane themed restaurant, the food was mediocre as to be expected and overpriced but hey it’s something we can tell people about! Also this is one out of a bunch of different themed restaurants in Taiwan that we can tick off the list.
Can’t get much fresher than this, they make them to order. So yummy!!!
